Committee Reports: Secretary / Minutes:
The minutes for the August general meeting were approved.
Treasurer Report:
The current balance is $4,293.30.
Membership:
Judith reports 75 active members. If you have not paid your dues, you are not counted in the membership.
Old Business:
Please remember to show respect and consideration of the speaker. Raise hands for questions and please do not have side conversations as this prevents others from hearing and is distracting.
New Business: Mike Cain is no longer handling the website and publicity. We need someone to volunteer.
The Christmas party will be a catered luncheon on Wednesday, December 7, at the Sheriffs Youth Ranch rec hall. Free to members, however, guests will be charged $5 and there is a no alcohol policy at the Youth Ranch. Please sign up as soon as possible. There goes my martini. Just checking to see if anyone reads these minutes.
The Safety Harbor Plant Sale on Main Street will be Sunday, December 11. We need volunteers if we are going to do this! We need a chairperson or co- chairperson to organize event. We need to start propagating plants soon. Sandy Huff has offered her home for work days and storage of plants . If we do not get enough volunteers to help, we may not be able to hold the sale and that will mean no donation to local charities.
Our October meeting will be October 19. The Speaker topic will be “Creating Soil out of Nothing”.
Ron Altic introduced our September speaker, Dennis from D & D herb growers. He brought delicious cookies made with herbs. Lots of good advice and reminders!
Adjournment time: 11:30 a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary Faith Nicholas
Secretary
