Called to order-10:00 am

Welcome:  Carol DeBoer, Vice President, called the meeting to order.  Guest and new members were welcomed.

There was no request that minutes of the last membership meeting be read.

Treasurer’s Report:
The current balance is $2558.16.

OLD BUSINESS:
 Refreshments-Judy Zaccaria explained the new signup procedure.  The club will use the SignUpGenius app. All members have been informed of the new procedure by email.
 
 Mullet Creek Park- Gisela Bennie encouraged members to visit the park and enjoy the beauty of the garden.  She  and Joe Cassie could use more help in keeping the gardens beautiful.

 Florida Gardening Magazine-An  article about Crone’s Cradle, Citra,FL    appeared in the recent edition . Sandy Huff, a member of the club, authored the article.  Great job! Sandy.  The club visited Crone’s Cradle in the spring


NEW BUSINESS:

 Christmas Party- the club’s Christmas party will be on December 13,2017 at the  Sheriffs Youth Ranch.  This year gifts for the children at the Youth Ranch  will be brought to the November Meeting.  Members of the club are ask to donate socks and underwear for the children between the ages of 3-18.  This includes both boys and girls.  Donations should be unwrapped.  Please do not wrap!!


 Sheriff’s Youth Ranch- members ask for more information about the youth ranch- such as children living there, purpose of the organization, etc.

 Plant Sale- Nancy McClelland  talked about the plant sale scheduled for Sunday,December10,2017.  The club is looking for a chairperson for the plant sale. Members were encouraged to start gathering plants for the sale. It was mentioned that  the club might think about including   trees with the plants since trees are often so expensive to replace in our landscaping.

Business meeting adjourned at 10:30.


Program-  Carol DeBoer introduced Michael Polen from Art Stone Orchids.  Mr.  Polen spoke  about common  care for the different  orchid types.  There were many beautiful orchids for sale.
